How does Women, Ethics, Bias and Images in Society Affect Photojournalism? Throughout this course, photojournalism has been the main target in identifying relationships between the impact amongst women, ethics, bias and the overall effect on society. Photojournalism tells a story through images which ultimately helps to prove a news-story and most importantly to document real life world events. Photojournalism is essential from decades ago to now in the current year, 2025, because it captures moments in time that make history. While the act of taking images is important, the people behind the camera are even more resilient for taking on this work because they have a strong passion for it while facing dangerous situations. What Motivates Me and Photojournalists?

Image
Many things motivate me in life such as wanting to become a CRNA, my family, my friends and wanting to build a successful life for myself. Down below depicted are the different pictures that motivate me such as my family and even a picture at the beach because it looks peaceful. The picture at the beach demonstrates peace to me since I love to read and be near the ocean and that's what still keeps me going in life which is finding joy in the simple things. The other picture of a CRNA is what I want my career to look like and while going through nursing school that is what motivates and pushes me to do better. My family would be the biggest motivation for me since they have been there since the beginning and continue to be my motivation through the toughest days.  Since I have many motivations in life, so do photojournalists within their career. The photojournalist Xyza Cruz Bacani received a fellowship to pursue photojournalism after being a maid which shows great strengths. I foun...

This Is My Truth

After reading all my classmates blog posts from the Photojournalism and Bias Padlet I can see the cumulative impact it had on everyone. The cumulative impact all these images had was making a statement on Ed Clarke's photograph since it represents plenty of hardships. The cumulative impact of the truths and untruths would be with the truths many of my fellow classmates chose to show off images that were inspirational and raw while the untruths were images that were edited or showed off some type of political lie. The way I responded to my classmates' photos were all through my emotional senses due to the pictures they put for their truths. When looking at Gabriela Baez Santiago's blog post she showed of the image by John Moore for her truth image and I responded emotionally to it because it showed off a young girl watching her mother be detained.  My cumulative impression for this photo and all my classmates' photos was the strong impact it had on my feelings because th...

Photojournalism & Bias

Image
Bias and truth can be looked at and seen in photojournalism but are two completely different terms. When audiences take a look at an image, they tend to have different interpretations due to what they have experienced in life and what they deem to be true. Everyone's life is different due to family, education, birthplace, ethnicity and work which makes it a unique and personalized experience.                                                                                 By Ed Clark In Ed Clark's "Going Home" photograph it represents the importance of emotions especially in a time when the country was mourning. In the image, I see a black man playing the accordion while crying and looking up while other people, specifically women that are white are around him too looking sad. I interp...
